Hey Fitbit Community,

Have you been missing notifications on your Fitbit watch? Maybe you didn’t see a text message asking you to pick up groceries on your way home, or you didn’t get an alert for an important meeting. Whatever it is, we rely on our notifications to keep us informed of the many things happening in our lives. Here we’ll walk you through enabling notifications on your Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4.

How do I set up notifications?

To set up notifications, make sure your phone’s operating system and the Fitbit app are up-to-date. You’ll also need to confirm your phone’s Bluetooth is enabled and that your watch is paired. Next, check your phone settings to verify Fitbit can receive notifications. You can find detailed instructions here. Then, open your app and tap the settings icon in the upper left corner. Tap on your device and tap notifications. Then choose which apps you want to receive notifications from. You can now swipe up on the clock face to view phone calls, texts, calendar, email, and app notifications.

You’re all set to start receiving notifications on your Fitbit Sense 2 or Versa 4. With notifications enabled, you’ll receive alerts, goal celebrations, and reminders.

What are do not disturb and sleep mode?

Do not disturb and sleep mode provide a quick way to silence your watch, so there’s no need to dig through setting options to disable notifications or power off your device next time you’re at the movies. When sleep mode is enabled, the screen’s brightness is dimmed and the Always-On Display feature is turned off. The screen will also stay dark when you turn your wrist. If you would like to set a schedule for your watch to enter sleep mode automatically, find out how to set that up here.

If you’re not receiving notifications, here’s how you can fix it:

First, you’ll need to check if do not disturb or sleep mode is enabled on the quick settings screen. To open quick settings, swipe down from the clock face.

If the sleep mode iconLeticiaFitbit_0-1690224904495.pngor the do not disturb icon LeticiaFitbit_1-1690224904478.pngare illuminated, tap the icon to disable the setting. You’ll know the mode is disabled if the icon is grayed out.
