Ace 2 won't charge or turn on

My son's fitbit ace 2 won't charge and won't turn on after all.  I have tried to reset it and nothing happens.  it won't vibrate or anything.   I was thinking of buying a fitbit ace 3, but seems the fitbit is not a friendly device and having a lot of difficulties to keep it working properly.  I never have any troubles with my apple watch.
