I received a message to upgrade my fitbit child account to a standard account on my birthday. I want to use the same email address but for security reasons there is an error saying I need to wait 72 hours because the email address is already associated with a fitbit account. I waited a few says and I get the same error. Please help me upgrade and use the same email address for the account.

1) I assume you mean on the child's birthday, not on yours.
2) The child can upgrade but does no need to.
3) If the child does upgrade, they need a different email address; you cannot have 2 separate users on the same account, except child on family account.

I bought the Ace 3 for myself (I have no child) and had to use a family account on registering. I would like to upgrade yes. I wish it were easier, and did not require a different email address.

Sorry, I misunderstood your situation. I was assuming you had your own account, plus had a child with Ace 3 in the family account. I really don't know about your situation.
