Ace 3 never shows any sleep data on the tracker itself

We’ve been using my child’s Ace3 for about a month. It never shows any sleep data on the watch itself, even though it will show in the app. In the app I can see simplified sleep data, it never gives me any sleep stages. Why is this happening? 
I’ve read the “why” section on simplified sleep data and none of the reasons it gives for not getting more in depth data make any sense.

Ace 3 tracks several sleep metrics including when you go to bed, how long you're asleep, and how long you spend awake or restless. Please, keep in mind that you will be able to see sleep patterns on the app only.
