somehow the prong on the strap buckle keeps getting pushed through so that the indentation is on the wrong side, and it makes it difficult for my son ti take his watch on and off. His previous kids smart watch had a bracelet style band, no buckle, it just stretches to slide off and on the wrist. so I was looking for a replacement in this style. Does this exist? Is there another style of band that wouldn’t have this issue?

Hello @findblancomeow and welcome to the Community. I found this third party nylon band on Amazon. The pebble doesn't pop in to the case, like the Fitbit Classic and many other third party bands. Please look closely at the image that shows how to attach the band. It uses a pin system. The Ace 3 pebble is identical to the Inspire 2 pebble. When a child become old enough to have their own account, the Ace 3 gets unlocked to become an Inspire 2. Inspire 2 bands fit the Ace 3. Most bands marketed directly for the Inspire 2 use the adult sizes, so they might not work for your son.
You aren't the only parent who has experienced this issue with the prong on the Fitbit brand Ace 3 band. There are many, many choices for bands that are very similar to Fitbit's, meaning the pebble pops in and out. Check out the verified reviews for comments.
Good luck.

Thank you so much. I saw similar bands in my search but was confused how that would work, I didn’t realize the Ace 3 had the pins to connect the band.

@findblancomeow The pin is part of the new band. The groove is already in the pebble. You might have noticed it cleaning and changing bands and wondered about its purpose. Please watch this excellent YouTube video. It will show you how to attach the band.
As previously mentioned, the Ace 3 and Inspire 2 use the same pebble.
