Ace not charging

Bought a Fitbit Ace for my daughter, she loves it but now it won’t charge.

Tried the reset, cleaned the contacts and pins but still not working. She’s devastated that it won’t work after tracking her steps for the last few days. All I get is an empty battery icon with an exclamation mark.

yes, same issues, two different Ace trackers. There must be some flaw in the design. Hopefully, everyone has theirs under warranty still and can get a replacement! I asked if this was a flaw and if others had the same issue and I was told no. When I come over here I see it is happening to a lot of people. I wonder if the Ace 2 will be better.

Cleaned the fitbit as well as the charger port

Reset it multiple times

Tried two different chargers

Tried charging on the computer

Tried different wall outlets

Having the same issue with my son's ace.   Tried cleaning and left overnight and still get the exclamation point with the empty battery signal.  What next?

Hi,

Yes I tried that a few times already.

After a few days it charges and then stops charging for a week.

This is the third time in 2 months that this has happened. Its basically
unusable.

It has been unable to charge for a few days now.

Can I please get a replacement asap.

Thanks.

Contact customer service and see what they say. I've gotten two
replacements already. It's clearly a design flaw they refuse to admit to. I
wonder if the ace 2 is better. It came out today I believe.

We are having exactly the same issue with my daughter’s Ace. She got it at Christmas and for a while now it has not been charging so she has given up. She now wants to use it over the summer but nothing we do works - cleaned, reset, but just the ! showing

I have had the exact same problem of not charging with my son's Fitbit Ace.  I've tried everything listed in this thread and any where else pretty much.

I have:

  • cleaned the contacts on the fitbit ace
  • cleaned the contacts on the charger cable
  • attempted the "restart" (which basically does nothing because the device is dead dead)
  • tried on multiple chargers, usb ports, and computers
  • purchased a new charger cable
  • verified that the contacts on the charger cable are yielding voltage with a multimeter

The device will not power on or charge.  I contacted support, and since it was purchased last August (slightly over a year), I was told "Sorry!" and then given the fitbit products webpage so I could go purchase another.  I think not.  Not even 14 months old and the device will no longer charge.  This is clearly a design flaw.

Mine too.  It started within the first few weeks from purchase. Was able to reset with button until now. Now it won't even vibrate or show the ! It just sits there with a blank screen. Done all the troubleshooting discussed here. It's not quite 12 months old
