I ordred an Ace for my son who is 11. It is advertised as one size however it comes with a strap that is marked XS. This band does not fit him. The Ace is only sold as one size. Contacting fitbit and they suggest buying a new band - which costs another £20+. Apparent Alta Bands are compatible with it. Why have Fitbit released a product that is not fit for purpose and given options for band sizes?

The Ace is meant for kids, since they have really small wrists. If your son has larger wrists,he needs to get a bigger band. There are third party Alta bands that are cheaper on Amazon.

@AbrarKhan The Ace is designed for children through age 12. In the US and Canada, online protection privacy laws mean that children need to be age 13 and older to have their own accounts. A child age 12 and under must be on a Family Account. The Ace is the only tracker programmed to be on a Family Account. At age 13 and older, a child can use any Fitbit tracker with his/her own account.
The Ace band is sized for wrists that are 5 - 6.34". The Alta medium band is for wrists that are 5.5 - 6.7". I'm confident that the Ace band measurements were chosen to fit most children through age 12. It is unfortunate that your son falls outside the size range. If the Ace band is too small, it is even possible that the Alta medium band is too small. If your son's wrist is more than 6.7", then he would need a large band.

Following on to what @LZeeW said, the Ace is made to fit most kids. Since they wanted to make it kid friendly, they made the band colors Blue and Purple. The Blue and Purple only come with the Ace bands.
