Ace not waterproof?

I am really surprised the FitBit Ace isn't waterproof!? This is the main reason I'm not purchasing it. I think having a watch for a child should automatically be waterproof, the ball got dropped on this one. Any idea if this may be considered in the near future?

Yes.  I agree.  The Ace needs to be waterproof and is turning me off buying it as well.

At the moment they're just saying "summer 2019" for availability of the Ace 2
