Is it possible to add a profile photo for a child account?  There is no camera icon in the account profile section for my son (and he is disappointed that he is the only one in the family without a picture).

Currently, you can not upload a photo to a child's account, but we hope to have this feature soon. As @jmreeder mentioned, there is a feature suggestion requesting this feature. I encourage you to vote to show our team how desired this feature is.

@bluru206 Right now you can not add a photo to a child account, but hopefully, this feature will be available in the future. I welcome you to post this on our feature suggestion board, where your suggestion can generate votes providing feedback to our team that this feature is wanted.

In the new family section when adding a child account, how do you change the profile picture from the default avatar to a custom photo?

Hi, @StevieDee, my understanding that this is not yet available but hopefully will come with a future update.

This is ridiculous that they can’t have their own photo, simple function. When will the update take place? My child is upset she is the only one in the family without a photo. Might as well have bought a normal Fitbit!

If you go to the Features Suggestions page under the Help Forums, someone has put in a request for the profile picture addition (I think this forum is more for just discussion, whereas that forum is to send specific requests to the Fitbit team).  If you go to that forum (look for it in the Ace subsection) you can 'vote' for it. Suggestions with lots of votes will get their attention.

I’ve voted. Thanks. Surely this should be a standard feature.

Mine too, was so excited about getting for his bday this week. He loves it but mad he doesn’t get a picture and I’m upset as well that he can’t be friends with our group of friends. Wish I’d just got him the Alta and like someone said order small band! Very frustrating process to set up. I changed MY name by mistake and am now him for 60 days...hope they fix it soon, at least for pictures. The promotion made it sound like a parent could accept friend requests? Still trying to figur that out.

Thanks for the update @Shelbelle1980Hopefully this will be implemented in the future, thanks for your vote!

Nice to see you here @Karebear22@Janetville, and @July0385! Thanks for sharing your interest in this feature. I appreciate that you have shared all your input.

To let our developers know about your interest on this feature please upvote for the main suggestion Profile photo for child accounts

@Janetville Regarding the incorrect user name, you can change your user name by following the steps described by the help article How do I manage my Fitbit profile? About friends requests, your child can’t connect with other Fitbit members outside of challenges. You can read more about it in the help article How do I manage my Fitbit family account? in the section Can My Child Interact With Others in the App?

Keep me posted! 😉

Hi Lucy,

I have a question about voting for features.  When looking at the feature suggestions for other products, sometimes there are hundreds and even thousands of votes.  But then again, those are for products that have a ton more users than there are for the Ace (since Ace only just came out and it's designed specifically for children).  Do developers look at popular feature suggestions relative to the number of product users (or even on a per product basis)?  If it takes 500 votes for something to register on the developer's radar, it could be ages before this request makes it to them (even though it might be a high percentage of the total number of Ace owners).

Thanks for the reply @bluru206The development cycle varies based on whether it’s for software, hardware, web application, etc. To read more about Feature Suggestions and how they are implemented, you can check out the Feature Suggestion FAQs.

Catch you later! 🙂

Hello @Chrissy21, thanks for sharing your feedback, and welcome to the Community forums.

As it was mentioned in this thread previously, it's currently not possible to upload a photo to a child's account, but it could be a useful implementation.

I noticed there's already an idea posted about this in the Feature Suggestion board, so if you haven't done so already, I encourage you to vote for this suggestion and add your comments as well:  Profile photo for child accounts

I hope this helps.

I took it back and got a full refund, she can't be apart of all the rest of the familys fitbit  she didn't want it, no point her having one, when she can't connect to the rest of the family.

Thanks for the feedback @Chrissy21, I'm sorry to see that you had to take it back for this reason, but I hope she can return to the Fitbit family in the future when more features become available. Smiley Happy

Yes, we are still very disappointed as well that it has taken this long. My Son turned 8 last spring, He was very unhappy about not being able to update his pictures as he would like. Annoys me as well with all the other restrictions on the kids accounts its not a issue. The new avatars are okay but as I have seen mentioned previously very babyish for older kids.

Hope you can get this done early 2019 FitBIt.

Thank you
