Am I able to add my son to my family account if he has his own account, aged 13? I'm concerned about the messaging and friend requests he might get and want to be able to approve everything myself, if possible. Thanks.

Hi @Cathmrsg,
From what I have heard, I don't think that he's old enough to have his own account at 13 years old, but I could be wrong.

@Cathmrsg Hello @Cathmrsg and welcome to the Help forum. I think I am reading your post a little different from @DramaQueenDiva. If your son already has his own account, I don't know of any way to change it to put him back on a Family Account without him losing all his statistics. Also, you can only put an Ace series tracker on a Family Account. But I don't think it's as bad as you think. With an adult account, he can only receive messages from friends. As a parent, I think it is OK for you to ask to approve his friend requests.
Another user posted an interesting dilemma. She wanted to set up a Family Account, because her 14 year old has special needs. The Family Account setup wouldn't let her enter the correct birth year.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Cathmrsg. Thank you for sharing your adding an older child account to a family account.
As @DramaQueenDiva mentioned, your child could not be old enough to create his own account depending on your location and the can be added to the family account if he has an Ace series device.
Regarding your concern, as @LZeeW wrote, with an adult account, he can only receive messages from friends. And I think the same about approving his friend requests.
Keep on visiting the forums.
