Can Ace 3 be paired in two Family Accounts?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My husband and I bought the Ace 3 for my stepdaughter for Christmas. I have her on my family account currently because her mom doesn't have a Fitbit, but has been considering getting one. If she decides to get a Fitbit, can she also add our daughter to her family account or is the tracker only allowed to be linked to 1 parent account? I was thinking we would just have to have her link her Fitbit to her tablet at her mom's house under her mom's Fitbit account when she is there, then pair it to the tablet she has at our house under my account when she is with us. I'd prefer not to give her my login info if I don't have to.

Hello @kayla18 and welcome to the Community.  I'm going to ask a moderator to clarify this.  To the best of my knowledge, an Ace model can only be on one family account at a time.  I think the answer is to add her mother as a Guardian on your family account.  She doesn't get your login credentials.

How do I manage my Fitbit family account?

Welcome to the Community, @kayla18@LZeeW Thanks for stopping by and sharing your insights.

@kayla18 Thanks for the details and I'm glad your stepdaughter is part of the Fitbit family. Let me confirm that the Ace 3 can be paired to only one Family account, as if you set it up to a different Family account, her details won't merge and might get lost. Similar if you have two accounts to sync your Fitbit device.

As you may know, the Ace 3 needs to sync consistently to keep the details updated and the notifications working well. With this in mind, you may want to create the Family account in the tablet she uses more frequently so it can sync. If you're going to use your tablet, you can add her mother as a guardian to your Family account so she can check her daughter's steps and participate in challenges with her. Doing this won't require you to share your login info as she'll have her own account to sync her Fitbit device.
