I bought a ace 3 for my daughter, im not a Fitbit user so had to set an account up 1st. I used my google account to log in. I set up my family how ever on my family it just say

to add children, make sure they're part of your family on Google, then set them up on Fitbit, their name will appear

I have made my daughter a account on my account as she is only 5 and added her to my family on google but nothing is showing up in my family on Fitbit app

please can someone help

thanks

Good grief! There's no excuse as why this issue hasn't been sent to the "higher ups" by now. Absolutely none.

If you feel like you're getting the run-around, it's because you are. It's not accidental. The longer you wait to return your product, the more likely you won't be able to.

Very frustrating. Everyone with the same issue should create a new thread. Fill the forum with queries on this.

Maybe they will eventually concede that the suggested answers/fixes cannot and will not work right now.

Child has an android device.

Child has a supervised google account.

Child has an Ace 3 Fitbit.

Child must choose 2 of these 3 things because the 3 cannot coexist.

I've seen the user suggested fix of using another android device and another new account to sidestep the bug. All credit to that user for figuring it out and documenting it but I'll just use a different fitness tracker rather than be at the mercy of the developers who created this farce.

Yea, I'm definitely feeling it for sure, I have a grandchild with me until
Saturday, I don't drive and where I bought the devices from is 2 bus trips
away so rather than drag them around I'll wait until Monday and then I'm
off to return the 2 devices and exchange for garmins or similar that'll be
easier to set up..I'll be doing my research 1st

Oh my lord, that's really not good, oh my frustration would get the best
of me I'm afraid

This does not work, nothing does. I actually can not believe they are still being sold, but can't be used. So much disappointment in my house tonight. Fitbit/Google need to remove these off the shelves until the issue has been fixed.

This sucks. I guess I'm returning the Luxe I got my 13 year old daughter. I'm going to return the Pixel Watch I got myself too because this wasted my time and pissed me off.

Can't agree more, it's ludicrous

Womens, so it's not just the ace3, that's insane

Best Answer

Yeah, well I have her Google account supervised and I'm not disabling that, so I guess that means she can't use the FitBit app and her new Luxe is useless.

Best Answer
Oh geez, yea they really haven't thought all this through have they
Best Answer

No, not a good experience. My daughter really wanted to keep it, though, so I persisted in trying things, and I did end up finding a workaround. I was able to sign her up for a regular Fitbit account using this link: https://www.fitbit.com/signup, and then she was able to get into the app and connect to the device. The app asked to connect the account to her Google account the first time she logged into it, but we will avoid doing that for now.

That's so good, I'm glad you could work it out, I wish it could work for the kids ace3

Accurate reviews online will help prevent more disappointed and upset children, and frustrated adults.

Word of mouth is useful too, warn your friends and colleagues of the farcical experience that awaits them if they pay hard earned money for these.

I agree, I've certainly learnt my lesson

Hey! Just so everyone knows, I have contacted google as well. They started by faking they don't know the issue, just like fitbit does. Then they said the same thing as fitbit which is "there is an ongoing issue, we are sorry. There is no ETA" and then proceeded to shut down the conversation quickly. So, yeah, sorry everyone, but contacting google and family link won't help. I think the only thing that would help is to contact medias, which I've tried but with no success.

Probably whatever way the code was originally written, the whole "supervised account" thing is a nightmare to work around.

The simple answer (IMHO) is for them to drop the requirement to use a child's account to setup the Ace.

Allow us to use an adult account. I set up the Ace on my phone/tablet, with my account, then hand it over to the kid. Order is restored to the universe.

This is my guess as well. However, I am a dev myself and I have never seen in my entire life and issue that's so hard to fix? I agree with your idea: it sounds the simplest but I don't think it will happen unfortunately.

You've jinxed yourself now!

Some good could come of this - AIs could have latent code inserted so that if they ever get malicious ideas about the human race they get diverted to bouncing between Fitbit and Google trying to solve this puzzle.

Oh geez. Just getting the run sound and being fobbed off. Really not good

I tried to set it up on my account it won't let you, immediately says you have to login with your child's google account and then it say :cross_mark:
