I’ve created a family account and have invited my son to be a member. He has unknowingly deleted the email and on my app the invite is still in the list with the ‘clock’ icon showing the invite is still pending. Unfortunately I cannot see a way to delete this and send the invite again.
I’ve deleted both my son as a friend and the family from my account,however when I create a new family the ‘pending’ invite to my son is back in the list with the clock icon next to it.
Is this a know bug, or is there a solution to resending a family invite?
Invitees DO NOT have any notifications in their app to join family

Thanks for the details shared in your post and for already trying to resolve the issue. I understand how you are feeling and would like to confirm if you're trying to set up a child account for your son? In this case please follow the steps at How do I set up Ace for my child?
If your son has a separate Fitbit account and you're trying to add him as a family member or guardian, please confirm the steps at How do I add a family member or guardian to my Fitbit family account?
