I bought two Ace devices for my sons but you are not able to add two Ace devices to one phone. I have been trying to add the second Ace to my account for a week before I was finally told tonight that you can only have one. My children do not have phones of their own so I have no other place to link them. I don’t understand the point of a “family account” if you can only link one child’s device to it. I just want to warn other potential buyers with more than one child. I’m very disappointed.

@Cheesamarie, as I mentioned, the issue switching between parent view and kid view is being worked on. In the meantime, if you get that endlessly spinning, force quitting the app will cancel that activity and log you out.
You can also check your son's steps without switching to kid view by looking at your friends leaderboard.

@Cheesamarie as @Julia_G mentions, the team is aware of some iOS users having seeing an infinite spin and having to force quit the app. I addressed this and will posts updates here. Thanks for your patience. I'm an iOS user and switch back and forth from parent to kid view all day and it's not an ideal experience.

I was able to set up both my kids with separate Fitbit Ace as child accounts on my family account. They both use the same iPad. Is there a way for them to switch between their accounts without me entering my password to go to my parent account in between?

@desertaggies , no, there is not a way to switch directly in the way you suggest. That is to make sure that anyone who accesses a child account must first go through the parent.
