I have an Apple Watch but I got it after using FitBit for years and would rather keep my progress on FitBit. My Flex 2 is dying now, and the reason I got it is because it didn’t have a watch face. Is there a setting to not have the clock display, and just only steps or distance, on the Ace2
2? I don’t need two watches.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @wpaulbishop.
Thank you for being a Fitbit customer. I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your concern about not having the clock display on the Ace 2 since you don't need two watches. Thanks for the details shared, I am here to help. You mentioned that your Flex 2 is dying, I will be glad to help you if you provide details of the issue with your tracker.
Regarding the Ace 2, I would like to advise that a variety of clock faces are available in the Fitbit Clock Gallery and you can select the one that suits your needs. The tracker’s screen turns off when not in use. While there is no option to turn off the clock face, you can turn off the screen wake setting so the device won't turn on when you turn your wrist. For more information, see How do I see the time on my Fitbit device?
I would like to mention that Fitbit Ace and Ace 2 are designed for kids ages 6+. If you're interested in a Fitbit tracker for you, I would suggest taking a look at Fitbit Inspire. This tracker has a variety of clock faces, it can be also used inside the clip and you can attach it to your belt or pocket. You can check out our comparison page at https://www.fitbit.com/compare, where you can see at a glance the features that each device provides.
