Difficulty setting up a family account

I have two Ace 2's to set up with over excited children to manage at the same time. I would have hoped this would be a lot easier.

 

I have a charge 2 and I have set up a fitbit account. I am on a windows PC and the firmware has been updated today. I have been to the setup instructions and forum threads but I cannot see a way forwards. The on line instructions for setting up the ace2 on an existing account says this:

 

  1. With the tracker nearby, open the Fitbit app, and log in to your account.
  2. On the Today tab 
     
    , tap your profile picture. 
  3. Tap Create Family Account > Create Family. Note that you may be prompted to verify your email address.
  4. Tap + Create Child Account.

1 and 2 went smoothly enough I think. However, on my account screen there is no link to click Create Family Account. There is one to add friends but none for adding my family.

 

What do I need to do? Does the software have to be updated? If so where is the link? Am I missing a link somewhere?

 

In truth, I do not find this sort of thing very easy. If someone can give me a hint as to how to proceed I would be most grateful.

We had the exact same issue. I was finally able to find the family account on my phone. I was unable to add the children on my PC
