Entering a birthdate for a family account

Hi,

I just got the Ace 2 for my daughter. When I tried to enter her birthdate when I was setting up a family account, the options only started 11/2006. My daughter is older than that, so I was unable to set this up and was “told” that a family account was not available for me. How can I do this? Right now, I have it set up so my daughter’s info is syncing with mine.

To the best of my understanding, you cannot set up a child in family account after age 13.  If she already had an account when reaching 13, could keep child account or transfer to regular account.

I'm not sure whether the Ace 2 can be set up as a regular account with separate account/email, but you could try.

But if you only have one smart phone or other sync device, to track 2 adult accounts, you need each to have its own account and would need to keep logging out of one account and into the other on your phone.

Another thing to consider, if you do decide to set up  your daughter with own adult account, and if the Ace 2 is returnable depending on where you bought it, the Inspire is basically the same tracker without the kids look, and makes possible, but does not require, weight tracking; and the Inspire HR for about $30 more, likewise is basically the same but with heart rate tracking also.

So basically I think your options are:

1. Figure out a way, which I will not mention, to register her as a child's account.

2. See if you can register the Ace 2 to an adult account.

3. Return the Ace 2 and get a regular adult tracker.

Noting that for options 2 and 3, it is a bit more difficult to track if have only one sync device.

Sorry if I made that all sound more complicated than necessary.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
