Family account only for under 13?

Is there any way to set up a family account without using the Ace or Ace2? My kid is not 6 and does not want to use a "Little Kids" tracker. He would like to have more than just sleep and step information (as would I). The Ace2 is so very limited on what it can keep track of. Why is the family account only limited to just just the Ace2 I know there are kids out there who want something that does not scream "I'm 5" but don't have their own phones. As the Parent if I want to spend the money and buy my 5, 9, 12, or 14 year old any of the trackers or smartwatches I should be able and still keep my kid protected.

Hi @wyldtala,

The family accounts are in place to comply with COPPA regulations here in the US.

With that said, you don't need an Ace 2 for the family account....you can also use an Ace 1.  The Ace 1 might be a better option for you as it, in my humble opinion, doesn't look so childish.  In fact, I've seen many adults who have smaller wrists, including my mom, wear the Ace 1, which looks just like an adult tracker.

I do understand about the guild lines but that is just for an account. The product does not have anything to do with an account. My comment still stands I should be able to buy any of the products and add it to a a child's account. The Ace and Ace2 both only track steps and sleep. It can keep track of workout IF you go in and manually go in to the app and input it. I live in Phoenix, AZ and would like to keep track of how much water my son is drinking as well as all the other options that the "Adult" trackers have.

Im in the same boat. My daughter was using a charge 3 as our pediatrician recommended/prescribed that one for my 10 year old for specific health reasons that were noted in her medical record. Fitbit said I had to delete her account and go with the Ace 2 which has less features. Its really so sad.
