Fitbit Ace battery symbol w/ exclamation

My daughter got her Ace yesterday. We got it all set up and it was fine. Today the dreaded empty battery symbol with an exclamation point is showing on her Fitbit screen and it won’t do anything. After google searches everything is saying to push buttons to reset, but Ace has no buttons.

I’d love some help!

Thank you!

@Eadie8035 Thank you for participating in our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Ace is also displaying an exclamation mark only. If you haven't done so, please restart your Ace as instructed in this help article. After this, try cleaning the contacts of your tracker and charger with a cotton swab and a little bit of alcohol in order to remove any dust.

Finally, charge your Ace for 2-3 hours and see if the issue gets resolved.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

Sorry everyone is having this problem,  but thankful it's not just my granddaughter's.  She got hers for Christmas too. I'm going to try this and hopefully it works.

So I charged my daughter's through my computer, and somehow the issue disappeared, and has been fine now for a week.  Fingers crossed.

My daughter’s ace is showing the same battery exclamation point. Cleaned the ports, tried the reset button on the charger, even another USB wall device. Nothing! I bought them during the black fri sale at sport check and opened them at Xmas! help?!

Son’s Fitbit ace is 8 months old and has now begun acting as all of the above. It has been charged, unsynced, re synced, forgotten the device, cleaned the prongs, and charged in three different outlets and two computers. The reset has been hit dozens of times and some of them with 2-3 hours in between. Please fix the software issue. This is absurd for so many people to have the same issue and no help for it. Realizing this is an ace forum just for the record my versa has the same issue (returned it) and my flex stopped working correctly two months ago. Have called customer service about the flex. Fitbit is beyond frustrating for me and my family at this point.

Having the same trouble. Only had it for two months. Troubleshooting is not helping. Please add us to the list.

Finally got it to start taking charge and it’s went from no battery to half charged when I plugged it back in. Sounding like this is a software problem.

Yeah, I’m back to having this issue as well. It takes a charge after a couple hours and the exclamation point goes away, but the charge never gets over 3/4. It’s been “charging” consistently for 2 days now and no change. If I take it off the charger, the exclamation point comes back. This has not been resolved. It worked for a bit after cleaning with alcohol, but now we’re right back. My daughter has yet to be able to use it since my first post.

I do suspect this is some sort of software or battery issue at this point.

Fitbit, can you please open a ticket for me too? Thanks!!!

I am also having the exact same issue with son’s ace. Exclamation sign showing, not charging, troubleshooting not helping! I notice my app was recently updated - wondering if related to that.... clearly this is a Fitbit issue - which needs to be sorted ASAP. Please can I also be added to the ever increasing list of people who have paid good money for a sub standard product. Thank you.

I’m having the same issue with my daughter’s Fit Bit (battery sign with exclamation mark).  I’ve tried cleaning the ports, charged on wall and computer and reset it multiple times.  Nothing seems to be working.
