Fitbit Ace needs text message notifications

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
Fitbit needs to add text message notifications to the Ace. It doesn't make sense to have only call notifications. There are many younger folks with iPod touches and iPads that communicate with text messaging years before they get a phone. Please add more notification options on the next firmware update. Thank you

Hi, @rmhammer, I think this is a great suggestion!  In my experience kids use text much more than voice calls these days.

The best place to make your suggestion would be in the Feature Suggestion forum.  There people can comment on, and vote for your idea.  The more votes, the more likely it is to be implemented.

There didn't seem to be a feature suggestion to add text messages to Ace, so please do go ahead and create one there.

Thanks for your idea, and welcome to the forums!

Thanks @Julia_G but unfortunately it seems Fitbit is not taking suggestions right now. I've tried numerous times today to post where you suggested. After I post, there is a red banner across the top and it says "Correct the highlighted errors and try again". Nothing is highlighted and there is no indication of where I could have made an error. The interface seems straightforward (search for your idea to make sure it doesn't exist already, acknowledge that it doesn't, then post your suggestion) but it seems to be broken.

Here is what I tried to post (if you see something wrong I'd love to hear it). Thanks

TITLE: Fitbit Ace text message notifications

BODY: Fitbit needs to add text message notifications to the Ace. It doesn't make sense to have only call notifications. There are many kids with iPod touches and iPads that communicate with text messaging years before they get a phone. Also, there are 13+ year olds with adult accounts that have small wrists so they would buy an Ace and would certainly make use of this. Please add more notification options on the next firmware update. Thank you

@rmhammer Welcome to our Fitbit Community! Seems odd that the "Feature Suggestions" board is not letting you to submit your request. Please let me know if you tried to submit your suggestion through your mobile device or a computer. Have you tried submitting your request recently?

Looking forward to your response! Smiley Happy

Just tried again. Doesn't work. It says "Correct the highlighted errors and try again." in a red banner across the top of the page, even though nothing is highlighted. First few times I tried with Chrome. I just tried again in a different browser (Edge). No luck. I welcome anyone else who thinks the system works to submit this suggestion (I'll certainly vote for it):

My son’s Fitbit ace is receiving text messages.  How do I disable?  The calls are disabled but do not see the option for texts.

Thank you!

@Tracyd24 you might want to double check that. It is currently impossible to receive text messages on Fitbit Ace, which is the whole reason for this thread. In the notification settings, the only option to turn on/off is "calls". There is no option for texts or notifications from other apps.

@upss I would recommend getting in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on contact.fitbit.com .  That's the best place for getting to the bottom of the issue you seem to be having.  Good luck, and welcome to the Community!
