Fitbit Ace not Restarting

This weekend my sons Ace showed an battery with exclamation point and after letting it charge the better part of the day it appeared to be working.  However, the battery is not holding a charge for much longer then a day.  I have tried to restart the Ace by pressing the button on the end of the charge cable 3 times within 8 seconds but it never shows the Fitbit logo and just vibrates every time I press the button the button.  Has anyone else experienced this issue and what did you do to resolve the issue?

I'm having the same issue trying to restart my daughter's ace.  Pushing the button 3 times just makes it vibrate.  I never see the fitbit logo.  Hers needs to restart because the date is wrong and it's not counting steps.  Did you get it to restart?
