Fitbit ace not registering active minutes on stair master

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My daughter has a Fitbit ace.  It gives her 0 active minutes for a 15 minute workout on the stair Master.  Her heart rate as measured by the stair master is elevated so I’m not sure why it’s not giving her any active minutes.  Any ideas?

@Hcnyc123  There is no heart rate monitor on the Ace, so it relies on the detection of movement.  Is she holding on tightly to the handles, if so it might not be sensing enough movement?  Is it registering a lot of steps for that time period?

Thank you for responding! She is holding onto the hand rails actually. It doesn’t register any steps either on the stepper but my Apple Watch doesn’t either so I don’t know what it is about the stepper that has these trackers miss the steps.

@Hcnyc123  Unfortunately, if it isn't recognizing steps then it won't recognize active minutes.  You can however manually log it on the app.  Just switch to the child view on the app, tap the + sign beside "track your exercise", and then search for elliptical (or relevant activity). Once you log that, she will get active minutes applied to her account.
