Why is it that you need to have an ace or ace 2 to create a Family account. It should be any Fitbit not just the ace brand. My child bought her own fitbit because the ace is not Preteen or teen friendly. They should be able to add any device that we want.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @kagekj79.
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your feedback regarding the Fitbit kids devices and Fitbit family account. Our team is always working on improving our devices and user experiences, and your comments are always welcome.
Fitbit designed Fitbit kids devices to encourage kids 6+ to be more active and build healthy habits with their families. Only Fitbit kids devices can be connected to a child account. Fitbit requires that all registered users of standard accounts be at least 13 years old in the US. Customers in other regions may have different minimum age guidelines. I appreciate your understanding. For more information, see How do I get started with Fitbit kids devices?
