Fitibit Inspire impossible to install for 14 year daughter

Daughter, 14years and based in Belgium, has an Android phone. Next month she is 15. She and her sister are under my Family Link account. 

It's impossible to install a Inspire 3 device, it only shows Ace devices. How can I archive this?

Hi @davedriesmans some European countries don't let children under 16 use anything other than the Ace series. I've asked a Fitbit Moderator to stop by to address this with you.

As your daughter is registered under the Family Account, she can only pair any tracker from the Ace Family . Those models are design to be used by kids, protecting their data and security.

Depending on the country the minimal age may vary. I'm not quite sure how this is in Belgium, but I know that it changes depending on the country. 
The Inspire 3 was designed to be used by "adults". Depending on the regulations in Belgium, (if the age allows) she could create a "grown up "account and use the Inspire 3.

You have different options to create a new account. 

a. If your daughter will be considered as not being a kid anymore, you'll get a message where the kids account can be migrated to a grown up account. (this depends on the age limit in Belgium.)How do I manage my child in the Fitbit app?
b. You can remove your daughter from the Family Account and create a new one just for her. ( keep in mind that all the data recorded as a family member, will be lost and cannot be recovered. ) . The new account will start from 0. 
c. If your daughter uses another email address, you can create an account with it. Conditions described on b. apply here too.

I must say it's a total disaster.

- The age limit is totally unclear, I can't find any information about regarding Belgium. It should show in the app imho. Also if you sell the device tell it in description. Especially if the minimum age is 16 (seems so now).

- There is no way to update the family members to "grown up" through the app. I don't see that function.

- It's impossible to add another account (newly created email) with the whole Google Family Link restrictions. Android does not let me.

So regarding Fitbit the only option is to return the device and buy an Ace with unicorn-drawings targeting an 8 year old? (She does not want those)

The option to upgrade to a normal account, will only appear if the max. age for a Family account is reached. As stated before, this is according to the regulations of each country. 

Have you tried creating a new email address to create a new Fitbit account?

I did, brand new gmail, but does not work on Android. It does on iPhone but not on my daughters Android

As the new email /account works on the iphone, try changing it to a Google account.What should I know about moving Fitbit to my Google Account?
I use my Gmail address to log in to Fitbit now. Do I already have a Google Account on Fitbit?
Once you get the new Google Account on the iOS device try logging into the Android phone with the new credentials.
