How to track sleep on Ace 2?

On the ace 2 there sleep tracker. How dose this work

Please check out the information and follow the steps that are listed in the page number 21 of the Ace 2 manual. This info will help you to get your sleep tracked.

This is still just a little vague.  My child doesn't have her own phone so we set it up under the family settings on my phone. When I hit "Begin Sleep Now" it doesn't let me go back to MY parent dashboard for my own stats.  I'm guessing I should avoid using that feature and just let it track her sleep automatically?
