Longer battery life on the Ace

The Ace needs longer battery life. We have two in our family, and the batteries on both of them don't last longer than 48 hours. It's surprising considering the website says they should last 5 days. We don't have all-day sync on. I just checked the claims of the Garmin vivofit jr and they say the battery on those last a year. I can't figure out why there would be such a big difference. Surely Fitbit could make these with longer battery life!

I agree, my daughter got her Ace in June. The past 3 times we’ve charged it, the charge has only lasted 2ish days. I’m disappointed.

Hello @KiwiMack

For sake of clarification the battery of the Garmin Vivofit jr is not rechargeable so you are not actually comparing two similar technologies.

Still I'm surprised that your ACE can lost only 48 hours has mine easily last 4 days (not sure if it can't reach 5 as I charge it in the night of the 4th day)

Thanks for the clarification on the VivoFit Jr. At this point I'd probably take a device that lasted a year with a replaceable battery over one that loses power after two-three days. We charged up my son's Ace on Friday night, let it run to see how long it would last and it ran out of power part way through Monday morning and stopped tracking steps. I don't know, maybe he's taking too many steps!

Could it be that he's waking the screen often to check his steps? I know these can be quite a novelty to children, with some constantly playing/waking the device. Obviously the battery will take a hit the more the display is active.

@KiwiMack It's great to see you in our Fitbit forums and welcome aboard @Amberly1383! I'm sorry for the late response. However, I'd like to follow up on the battery issue that your children Ace trackers have experienced. Has the issue been resolved or are their trackers still running out of battery?

@Giampi71 @N8teGee Thank you my friends for your help!

The issue is still happening for us. My daughter does not get more than 48 hours of battery life on her Ace. Usually less.

@Amberly1383 Thank you for getting back! Since the issue persists, I'd like you to try one more workaround that has been helpful: try cleaning the contacts of your daughter's Ace and charging cable with a cotton swab in order to remove any dust that sometimes doesn't let the trackers to charge completely or properly. After this, charge the Ace for 3 hours and monitor if the tracker's battery doesn't get drained in less than 2 days.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

I agree, customer service told me 2 days is in the battery life window for the Fitbit.  5 days is the best it could last.  Not the average.  Charging every two days is normal battery life.  Not great for a brand new fit bit.

@67bit thank you for joining us in this thread and our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit Ace battery is not lasting as long as it should. I totally understand how you feel about this.

The Ace battery should last up to 5 days. With this being said, I'd like you to try the troubleshooting tips that are listed in this help article. These tips are helpful in order to extend the battery life of your tracker.

Hope this helps and let me know how it goes.
