I setup an account for me so I can get my kid's new Ace 2 setup. On her Kindle Fire HDX, there is no way to get to a family account. I logged in and went to my profile in the freshly installed app, as directed, but there is no link for the family account. It's the most recent version of the app on Amazon. The family account option is available on my phone, but I don't want to have to sync her Fitbit to my phone. Help?

@Jwikoff, welcome to our Fitbit Community! Regarding the setup issues that you are experiencing with your kid's Fitbit Ace 2, I'm afraid that the Kindle Fire devices are not listed in the Supported devices list. This is the reason why the option to set up a Fitbit device is not showing.
However, I'd like you to give your vote to this Feature Suggestion, which requests compatibility of this device. The more votes this request gets, the more chances it will have to be reviewed by our team.
In the meantime, you can set up the Fitbit Ace on your own device if your phone is in the list shared above.
I appreciate your patience and understanding with this.
I'll be around if any question arises.

Well that answers that. Why is the app available then?

@Jwikoff, thank you for your response. The app is available in the app store for all the devices and the list contains devices that have been tested by our team but that doesn't mean that no other device won't work. Still you can try the setup process. However, we don't guarantee that it will work on the Kincle Fire.
I appreciate your time with this. Let me know if you have more questions.

Hi I had the same problem today and wasn't able to add a family account on my amazon fire for the ace 2. I managed to do this by downloading the fibit app on my laptop and then I was able to add a familt account on laptop and set the ace 2 up. The pain is that you have to sync it to the computer. I am able to sync my fitbit on my amazon fire but not the ace 2. Good luck

I have the same issue and I agree with the point of why even bother certifying the app for the Amazon app store if you don't support the device. "You can try set it up but we don't guarantee it will work" is just plain lazy app development.Remove the app from the Amazon app store if you don't support it. You make the joy of getting the Ace 2 for your child completely irrelevant when you have to jump through a convoluted process just to find a device that you can create a family account on.
