Over 13 child but can still only link an ace?

jeez what a faff! 
so my daughter is 13, she has a Google account as part of my family account. 
I have bought her an inspire but it won’t let her sync to it. 
I’ve see that ace’s are for kids accounts but she’s 13! 
Is it because her Google account is linked to mine that it will only sync to an Ace? 
this system is ridiculous 🙄

please if anyone has an answer I’d really appreciate some help!

Hi @TheHarrogateFam it might be, however Fitbit is aware of an issue with upgrading a child account.
