Son's friends aren’t showing up

So my son has a Fitbit which I can see though my family account, he has friends on there that are adults, and all works fine. 

We have tried to  add his school friends to his friends list and seem to be having problems. The friend is located, he requests the friend, it appears in the parent notification for approval. I approve it and the friends parent gets the notification to approve the friend request which she does. But even after all this the friends aren’t showing in my sons list. 

Any ideas?

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing the details of the difficulty you're experiencing with adding your son's friends. Thank you for your efforts. I recommend to force quit the Fitbit app. For iOS see this article, and for Android see this article. After that please confirm the steps to add your son's friends: How does my child add friends in the Fitbit app?
