Unable to switch to kidview to set up a new ACE 2

I bought my son a Fitbit Ace 2 for his birthday so we can compete against each other since I have the Versa. However, I have been unable to set it up. Ive tried on both his iPhone as well as my own. I have an iPhone XR and he has the iPhone SE. Both phones were updated last night to the newest IOS software 13.5. Each time I log in and try to switch to kid view, it freezes and either just stays on a blank screen with a  circle, or it completely kicks me out and makes me resign in. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the apps on both phones and have not had any luck. I have turned the phones off and on and still nothing. Please Help, Ive read through the other posts and have done everything that has been recommended but nothing is working.
