As the main account holder I keep getting locked out of my Fitbit dashboard. When I enter the correct password to switch back into parent view. It is telling me that I do not have permission to do that. Please help

Hey everyone! Sorry for the delayed reply.
Thank you so much for sharing details about what you're experiencing when switching to parent view from child view in the mobile app.
We’re currently working to resolve it and hope to have a fix soon. Be sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date to ensure you receive the quickest resolution. We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.
In the meantime, you may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app. This will help you to log out from the app and get back to the parent view but won't necessarily fix the issue.
Once again, your patience is truly appreciated.

I am currently stuck on child view and it says the password is wrong. Recently went to forgot password and changed it. However when I put in the new password it still says incorrect password and I don’t have permission.

I am having the same problem when I enter my password to switch to parent view it says, Incorrect Password you do not have permission to perform this action. I have restarted my phone and changed my password twice and still will not let me switch to parent view. Please help!

Having the exact same problem.
I’ve tried restarting my phone, resetting my password and have uninstalled and reinstalled the app 3 times. Still doing the same thing. Really frustrating.

I switched to my child's account to set up her alarms. Now it won't let me switch back to mine. I entered my account password and even reset the password 3 times. It keeps saying I do not habe permission to enter parent mode. I had to uninstall the app and reinstall it to be able to get out of child mode.

I’m also having that problem. I even deleted the app and re downloaded it and once I logged into the child view I couldn’t get back to the parent view.

Same thing just happened to me! I did a live chat and they said they would need to escalate the issue because this is an unusual problem. But no resolution given.

I have followed all the instructions you have given. I have restarted my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, changed my password twice, all apps and my phone are up to date and I still get the same message. This is beyond frustrating. How can this be fixed?
I get the message incorrect password you do not have permission to perform this action. I have an iPhone XR
please help sort this out. Thanks

I'm having the same issue. I cannot switch back to the adult view. It asks for a password, I entered the correct one, its says wrong. So I clicked forgot password created a new one. The new one doesnt work, when I enter it. I tested the password on the website and it worked. So I know the password is correct. I uninstalled the app, signed back in and the app works, as soon as I switch to my daughter's view and want to go back to my view, the password doesnt work. I'm very frustrated.

I am also stuck in child view. Cannot switch back to parent view. I know I am using correct password because 1) I use Touch ID on iPhone, 2) I can still log into my Fitbit account through a web browser using my known password.

Guess fitbit has a glitch. Changed my password and won't let me change back, says I don't have permission to do that. Please fix sooner than later.

Mine is doing the same thing. Ive entered my password (which is saved so i know it’s correct), but it tells me it’s incorrect, not authorized to perform this action. So i choose to reset it (twice) but that still doesn’t work. And there is no where to “log out” completely from the kid view so I’m just stuck in limbo here in my kids account.

Same issues from yet another parent. Tried switching my password, rebooting my iPhone, and even chatting with Fitbit help. All stuck. I’d uninstall the app and reinstall it but don’t want to lose 3.5 years of data if I can help it!

@Msjaded Same thing started to happen to me this evening. Started looking online and found this thread. Was able to uninstall Fitbit app and then login. Each time I go to my child’s account I’m stuck in there as it won’t accept my parent password. Even tried changing my password and no luck. I see that version 3.20.1 was released 5 days ago but this issue just started happening today as I’m switching between child and parent on a daily basis. Really hope Fitbit can replicate and provide a solution. Can’t keep uninstalling the app just to switch from child mode to parent mode
update as of 5/6, issue has been resolved by Fitbit. Thanks!

Same here, I did everything like others rebooting the phone, reinstalling the app, and still same message, “Incorrect password, you don’t have permission to perform this action”, beyond frustrating! I think it’s glitz, please fix this, mine is iPhone XR.

I am having the same exact issue! I just installed both my boys new ace2 devices and it won’t let me switch from child view back to parent view. It keeps saying “incorrect password - you do not have permission to perform this action”. This is ridiculous!
