Upgrading from an Ace to Charge 3

I am updating my daughter’s Fitbit from an Ace to a Charge 3. 
She is currently on our family account. 
Can I simple change to the Charge 3 and it will update the family account or do I have to register my daughter With a Fitbit account as she has not got an account as she has an Ace and the parent has the access rights.

@Ariwari Charge 3 will not work with the Family Account.  You can "upgrade" her account to a full account (assuming she is legal age to setup her own Fitbit account) and you can add the Charge 3 to her account.  Here is a link to learn more about changing her account.
