Hi @whammo18
Here is a copy of the actual text from the link you provided. The article did say it that ability was coming soon and it was last edited August 28th.
When can my child upgrade to a Fitbit standard account?
When your child reaches the minimum age required in your country, they can upgrade to a standard account in the Fitbit app. Your child can choose to upgrade their account at any time, or to keep their child account. Their previous Fitbit data is automatically transferred to the new account.
Note: this feature is coming soon.
Which Fitbit features can my child access after upgrading their account?
Your child gains access to all the features in the Fitbit app, including weight measurements, estimated calories burned, female health tracking, and the Fitbit community. Main guardians on a family account no longer approve your child’s Fitbit friend requests or see their daily stats in kid view. Your child becomes a member in your family account, and you can continue to interact with them in the app. Your child can also upgrade to any Fitbit device.
Note that your child’s device shows the same stats even after they upgrade their account.
How does my child upgrade their account?
Have your child complete these steps under kid view in the Fitbit app:

@whammo18 I'm sorry for the late response. However, it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community.
I would like to follow up and would like to know if you were able to find the option to upgrade your son's account to an adult account after following the information that shared @Odyssey13 and was listed in the article you shared.
As a side note, make sure that your phone has the most recent Fitbit app version installed.
Looking forward to your response! 😀

@whammo18, thank you for getting back. By the way, I apologize for the delayed response.
Since you mentioned that you created a new Fitbit account, I would like to know if the upgrade could be done.
See you later.
