Can my son join challenges like the workweek hustle and weekend warrior with the ace?

@Zoeyi   According to this Help Article, the answer is yes.  That said, I have never set up a Family Account (no need at this time), so I can't give you any more details about inviting, etc.

Thanks you for this. I didn’t want him to get it and he couldn’t join us on our challenges

There is the equivalent of the Workweek Hustle that he could participate in.  Once you have the Ace, you can set up a Family Account and then start a weeklong "Family Face Off" and invite your son and other members of your family to participate in the challenge.  There is also a Weekend Warrior type challenge he can do, but I forget if it's called "Weekend Warrior" for the family accounts or if it goes by another name.

Can you only invite family members as we do challenges with friends so wanted him to be able to join them. Is there and option to set this up as a standard Fitbit and not a child’s one

@Zoeyi   I can answer the second part of your question.  The Ace/Ace 2 can only be set up as part of a Family Account.  It cannot be set up on an individual account.  A child must be age 13 or older (unless you live in a country where the digital age of consent is older) to have an individual account.
