Alta HR Band Problems - Best Replacement Band

Hi.  Like many others, I have had problems with the band breaking away from the device.  I've tried two replacements from Fitbit without any luck.

Has anyone found a third-party replacement band that doesn't break? I'd love a recommendation.

https://contact.fitbit.com has been very responsive to me, and replaced my
defective band— twice!

Hello. I did not purchase a mesh band. My band that came with the Fitbit
kept falling off. I purchased the same type replacement band from Amazon
and it has stayed on.

The same thing I've experienced. The first band was replaced free of charge while the device was still under warranty. I had a long online chat last week with a Fitbit rep and was told I have to purchase a band replacement since the warranty ended last July. I asked to speak with a supervisor, but there were "none available ". A super was to contact me within "a day or two" — nothing so far!

I have had the same problem with two sets of wristbands not staying attached to my Alta HR tracker.  I have had a discussion with customer service regarding the fact that I think that my tracker is faulty.  However, they would not stand by their product.  And now I can't get a replacement band.  I tried another mfg. but theirs broke within 11 days.  Since apparently Fitbit doesn't carry replacement parts for their products for any length of time, I sadly will have to think twice before I purchase another Fitbit product.  I am disappointed because I love the tracker itself.  Does anyone know if anyone finds a quality wristband manufacturer.

Customer Service has been good to me--they replaced the band twice and
because I lost the entire device when the band failed, they replaced the
device once as well. HOWEVER, the replacement band they send me failed
after just one month's wear. I'm using brand X from Amazon now.
I like the fitness device but their wristband quality control is
non-existent. They really need to do something about it. If I were a
conspiracy believer, I'd think that they were purposely making the bands to
fall apart so that we lose the devices and have to order another.

Say that is a good idea I just had my band fall off and noticed the plastic part is broken where is slides on the watch. I think maybe a band that like the 1 you show in the picture would be the best bet. Thanks

I have an Alta HR.  I have had 3 bands break away from the devise in a year and a half.  Have changed how tight I wear it and it doesn’t make a difference. They have all been genuine Fitbit bands.  Fitbit offered me 25% off on a new one. That won’t solve the problem.  Love wearing it just hate putting more money in it.  Also have been extremely lucky that it has come off at home

Yes, its just a matter of time until you lose it. Perhaps that is the strategy FITbt has? That way it profits from not fixing the problem.

I felt lucky too, that I never lost the device. I got tired of complaining,
even though they sent me replacements. I went ahead and ordered the mesh
band that someone else in this thread recommended and so far it's worked
great.

I’m beginning to think the same. They should have figured out a fix by now. Keep coming up with new models, but to my knowledge they all attach the same way.

Good to know I’ll have to look into it. I guess if there’s no plastic where it attaches it may solve the problem
Thanks

Did you get the band issue resolved? Mine is doing the same thing after 12 months.

Best Answer

No. I couldn’t find a mesh band as someone had suggested. To be honest I’m not sure they even make the Alta watch anymore. Very disappointing since the watch itself still works. I carry it in my pocket when I go walking

Another pathetic Fitbit story. I think Fitbit will go down in flames if they cant get a handle on the problem and redesign. I dont know a single person who has replaced a Fitbit with a Fitbit. Terrible abuse of consumers. Cant believe the word doesnt spread faster and save a lot of disappointment
