Alta HR Battery short life

My Fitbit battery used to last a week before charging. It has been depleting faster than I am able to use it. It now only lasts between 9-12 hours if I'm lucky.
I contacted Fitbit, and I was told there is no fix to the battery depleting & my watch has surpassed the 1 year warranty by 3 months therefore it no longer is eligible for a replacement. They kindly enlightened me of my "best options" being 1 option of a 25% discount on my next purchase. 25% off a $230 watch is no compensation for a product failing. I spoke to support associates and a supervisor via online chat. The supervisor repeated the words previous associated had said. I felt like i was talking to a robot reading the exact same sentences with no understanding or sympathy for my frustration.
I have to say I am really disappointed in the service provided and quality of my Alta HR, for the price they should absolutely last more than a year, and not depreciate so quickly. I
After reading multiple threads on the depleting Alta HR battery, I do not recommend this watch for purchase there are many other companies who are willing to keep their customers happy.

Hi,

I contacted customer support online. After running battery drain tests and
reporting results, Fitbit sent a discount code to me.

Same problem and same robotic "service."  Back to Garmin, I guess.  Much less attractive, but doesn't need charging.

I came online looking to see if there was the opportunity to replace the fitbit alta HR battery.

unfortunately, there's not.

I gave it as a gift to my wife a year ago christmas.  so, in the course of 18 months, the battery lasts only 12 hours or so, if that.  At times the screen shimmers as if it's trying to adjust its brightness, or maybe has an unstable connection.   I've tried everything I've read here so far, from letting it drain, restarting it by pressing the button three times in a row by the usb plug, etc., etc.

I guess the discouraging thing that I see here is that fitbit is saying there's nothing they're able or willing to do.  That's unfortunate.  There are a lot of recommendation websites that talk about how fitbit is the most popular.  But it seems they're limiting their options for people who are having issues with their tracker.

Is there ANY way that something can be done, that we can be helped, that my wife's fitness ALTA HR can be given some new life?   Please!????

Just thought I'd check here in the forums to see if there were any options before hitting it with a hammer.  lol!   thanks.  any help  or advice would be appreciated.  Thanks.

My Fitbit Alta HR magically came back to life. Probably didn’t use it for a year. Randomly decided to plug it in and charge it, with hope of it working but having no expectations. And voila, it turned on. Was expecting it to last somewhere before 5-8 hours like it once was doing, ended up lasting a full week! Literally could not believe it.

Ive been using it for a month now, completely back to normal use.

Hang in there, it might just come back to life one day

My children bought me a Fitbit Alta for Mother’s Day 2018, up until October 2019 it has been great then it needed to be recharged every 24/36 hours. On January 10th it completely died. We are disappointed it didn’t last 2 years

This happened to me too. For the price of these devices they should last longer and for customer service to tell us there is nothing they can do but we're in luck that they can offer a discount towards purchase of a new device is infuriating. Why would I want to spend more money on another device produced by the same company when my first one failed and support was not able to resolve the issue? It would be illogical to continue to spend money on product with faulty design. Definitely will be looking into product from a different company.

I have the same issue also with charge lasting less than 12 hours.   I had no issues up to a few weeks ago... so disappointed .   Device is out of warranty by 2 weeks only.
