My Alta HR has always been fairly accurate in the heart rate reading. Three days ago it read high on average all day, but I figured I had been working hard in the yard and didn't think much of it. Two days ago I had some very high random spikes, but again this happens once in a while and I just dismissed it. Yesterday my readings were normal until about noon and then I had random spikes up to 164 during the day -including a walk where I apparently reached 166bpm and I usually reach 120 at the most-and then a sustained 188 for 2.5 hours in the evening (I was basically relaxing during the whole time, no exercising!). Unfortunately I didn't sync it until this morning so I didn't realize it was reading that way to manually check (although I felt completely fine all evening). Today I have reset my fitbit, and shut off heart rate and turned it back on. I also contacted customer service chat and had to do this a second time. When I put my fitbit back on from the reset it read 174 and since then has jumped to 145 (when I manually checked it was in the 90s). Has anyone else had this happen to their Alta HR? Is there a way for me to fix it? Or is it just time for me to replace?

I'm having the very same issue, and from the threads I'm reading lots of other people are too. Something must have happened on FitBit's end.

I too am now having this issue. Would love to hear if there was ever a resolution.
