All of a sudden, the lights on my Alta HR stopped flashing, and then the screen won’t respond to tapping. I have tried the restarting option several times, but it won’t work for much longer after that is done. Leading up to this, I had also noticed that I was not able to read the screen when I was outside. I have also read the other posts re: the app phasing out the devices, and maybe the device is not actually broken?
I would like to find a way to repair the device/app, please.
I hope that a company that promotes healthy lifestyles, activity, and mindfulness understands that their users are not interested in built-in obsolescence and increased consumption.
Thank you for any support you can provide.

Hi @Ravenswick how old is your Alta HR? As mine got older, the screen was harder to read outside. I had a Flex before that did what your Alta HR seems to be doing. It would stop responding and I'd restart it and then the charge didn't last as long, so I'd repeat the process. Ultimately it just stopped working, no matter how often I restarted it. It's possible your Alta HR has reached the end of life. The minimum requirements for using the app has changed. iOS must be 13 or higher and Android must be 8 or higher to use the Fitbit app. The app isn't phasing out the Fitbits, but it is limiting the mobile devices used to sync and keep track of activity. When people remove the app, they can't reinstall it if their mobile device doesn't meet the minimum requirements. There is no repair for these devices. It's not built-in obsolescence to increase purchases, but I can understand how you feel. I will say that I changed to the Luxe, whose screen is much brighter (adjustable, too) and looks great in bright sunlight. Sorry this happened to you, but there really isn't a solution for an aging device.

I just wanted to share with you that the same things happened to my Fitbit. It is 3 years old, and it, over these few months, required to be reset as it suddenly stop working (no greenlight at the back, won't come on when touched). When it is reset the battery charge shows it is not zero.I checked in with fitbit customer service (and I suggest you do) as they would try to help solve it. It stopped doing this for 2 weeks then restarted, and I contacted them. They said nothing else can be done, so offered me a discount if I want to buy a new fitbit.

Hi @jdawg55 three years is a respectable age. You going to get another Fitbit? Just log in with your existing account and a new device and continue your journey.
