I bought my Fitbit Alta HR March 28, 2018 and on Sunday (April 21, 2019) when it was half-charged it just died and won't turn back on.
I tried using the reset button (pushing three times) but to no avail. Help?!?

I know this isn't helpful but I've been jumping through hoops to sync my device for about a month now.
My sisters flex stopped syncing all of a sudden and all that support could tell her was to reset and try again. She bit the bullet and got the inspire. I'm holding out for now as I just got a Peloton and the heart rate monitor in the fitbit doesn't sync so I'm exploring other options.
I've had a fitbit for 5 years but I'm thinking this is my last. I personally think they are "phasing out" the older models that can no longer be purchased so they don't have to support them and thus forcing those of us who have a device outside the warranty period to purchase a new device at full price. That seems so shady to me and is so backwards when many are so loyal to Fitbit.
I hope you get a resolution but I received the same message from support about a year ago regarding my phone (LG G6) not being on their supported devices list, a year later, it's still not and it's not tested for new devices either.

Strangely enough I got an email today from Fitbit encouraging me to upgrade to a new device. Lo and behold, right after that my Alta HR stopped working. Coincidence? I think not. I'm done with Fitbit. It's a scam!

I have had mine since 2018 and has been reliable up until yesterday..I put it to charge and disconnected after that .Although it indicates a full charge on the monitor, it's completely blank on the device, and all attempts to bring it on have failed..
Had anyone experienced this, and does it mean it's done?

My Alta HR quite about a week ago. WHen I do the suggested reset it buzzes after each push and never shows the "fitbit logo" Before it died completely it wold switch very fast through all the modes and never stop.

Exactly the same think happened to me. The Fitbit suddenly began acting strangely.

I am having the same issue. I wonder if fitbit does this intentionally so that we’ll buy their new product again. Because their customer service would be like “i’d give you % discount to purchase towards a new fitbit”
I wonder if fitbit does that intentionally so you would purchase again from them.

My Alta HR also stopped working yesterday, 23/5/20. It was on 3/4 charge, then went blank. Recharged it and it came back on for about 10 minutes. Tried recharging again, but has not come back on since. Fitbit app says device cannot be found.
Although my Fitbit is 20 months old, I would expect it to last much longer than this. Simply not good enough!

My Alta HR has started turning off while fully charged
have to plug in and reboot by pressing button 3 time
this usually allows it to work for a day then crashes again
any other help appreciated
it is just out of warranty !!

You might be onto something there. I invested a lot of money buying different colored bands to go with this device. Now instead of upgrading I'm thinking about keeping the same model for that reason. Does anyone know if any of the newer models will take the same band as the Alta HR? Thanks.
P.S. It died again in the middle of the night even after I reset it and recharged (as per the instructions here).
