Alta HR Suddenly Stopped Working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I bought my Fitbit Alta HR March 28, 2018 and on Sunday (April 21, 2019) when it was half-charged it just died and won't turn back on.

I tried using the reset button (pushing three times) but to no avail.  Help?!?

So Fitbit wasn’t helpful with my Alta Hr that shutdown at 100% battery, that refused to charge and it is not turning back on. They told me that it’s out of warranty and offered me 25% discount to buy another crappy watch. I am going to take my business elsewhere, I will look into getting an Apple Watch. I am done with these people and I am going to log off of my Fitbit account and delete the App as well.

I am hearing a lot of what you are saying. I did see that Fitbit is saying that when doing the restart to make sure you are doing it thru a usb port on a PC. I did that and it is still running and it is going on 2 days. I have not worn it yet but maybe there is something to doing the reset this way? Also I ran the anti virus program on the PC while the Fitbit was plugged into the usb port????

I pressed button 7 or 8 times and it turned back on. 3 times didn’t work

So are you saying it works now or it still does the thing where it **ahem**s off? That just made me remember one time where I pressed the button more than 3 times and it turned off ? Not sure what I was doing?

My fit bit stopped holding the charge. (It is almost like an aging Ipod that worked only when plugged in to power but does not work without outside power.) I have tried the help chat -switch on and off, press three times, try different power sources, etc.  The tracker shows 90% charge but will not respond after disconnecting from charging cable. Is there any sense in contacting help/support again?

Seems to be a similar thing with mine. Just found it was totally drained on the charge . Plugged it in to charge and it was ready in about less than 1 hour. Why can't the support tell people that the battery is gone? The repair shop IFIXUBREAK had a post about replacing the battery. Either that or buy a new Fitbit.

Hi, I purchased an Alta HR band on 31.01.2018. It was working fine until few weeks ago. It just turned off and it is not coming back to life. I have tried all the recommendations in internet and no luck. It is a bit odd that the product is out of order right after its warranty period. Can anyone explain the issue. How can i claim out of warranty period. I would not buy this product if i knew it only lasts 2.5 years! Any help! thanks

I was out of warranty as well and they offered me a 25% discount if I buy a
new one, I told them to shove the discount and I got an Apple Watch.

This has happened to me2x-
I left it plugged into the wall for a week- (actually i forgot about it) and reset it and I've been lucky it has come back-
Horrible product that only last 2 years- but I'm a sucker and bought another one!

The fitbit company is a little lenient with the warranty if your are close to when it ends? About it not lasting long well it seems when it is working 24 hours a day that is a lot. It would be nice if it lasted a bit more or they let you know that is what is up with the device right now. Wonder how some other brands stand up?

Same for me.  Purchased new device 4/19 and it stopped hold a charge in 7/20.  Called customer service and was offered 25% new device.  One year warranty is not enough.  I suspect that there is some type of planned obsolescence, given the number of people who have reported this issue recently.

Me too! My Fitbit just randomly turns off and when I reset it, it shows that the device still has half the battery life remaining. It’s getting really annoying as it seems to just shut off every few days. Can anyone help ?

What is really weird today it had 75% charge I put it on my wrist and within 1 minute it turned off? Curious if this something to do with not having a premium paid service?

Mine quit today when it synced this morning it had 64% battery. Now it won’t light up and app says no device detected. How long is life expectancy? Should I look for another? It’s about 2 years old?
