Alta HR band coming off

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have been having an issue with this band staying on. Almost lost it a few times.  Talked to support and I am out of warranty.  After reading all these other people having the same problem. It makes me think there is a flaw in the design. I shouldn't have to pay for a new band if they are having issues with their design.

I'm in the same place. I have multiple straps but the issue is the tracking device won't stay connected. Bummed that I shelled out for the rose gold tracker that won't stay on any band. Done spending money on these. For what they cost that should last longer.

My first band started to fall of after it got caught in my sweater sleeve.  I figured it was my fault so I bought a new one, I thought the price was to much but paid for it any way. The was very careful with the second band because buying another would be out of the question. About 5-6 months in ,the one side started to fall apart.   This has been happening for 2-3 weeks but now it’s so bad that when I move my hand it falls off.  (I do understand the terms of warranty but there has to be a defect on the manufacturer’s design for this to keep happening,) I can’t wear it anymore. I have to say I’m very  disappointed with this product.

FYI, I went to Amazon and bought a package of 10 bands for $14.99.  Look the exactly same. I'm 2 days in wearing it and so far so good.

Maybe you could be kind enough to share your offer to help assist her to the other users.  We seem to all have problems with the bands and would like them addressed.

Mine started coming apart about a month ago.  I watched the video on how to put it on, and that's exactly what I'm doing.  I bought my Fitbit around 2 years ago, but don't see anyplace in this thread where the moderators are providing any type of solution.  I'd be happy to send them a picture of the side of the band that's having the issue so they can see if anything is wrong.  It looks fine to me.

Wonder if my Alta HR can still track of I keep it in my pocket or pocketbook?

Great question! Probably but maybe not as accurate. I’ll have to investigate.

My first Alta band made a popping noise anytime I moved my wrist even slightly from the moment I got it, and now my replacement band that Fitbit sent me fell off while I was walking today. Had issues with my old Fitbit Flex bands falling off too because you had to take the piece out of the band to charge it. Went through 7 bands before getting my Alta. Love Fitbit and have had great customer service but looking into switching brands because I don’t want to buy another Fitbit product yet since I’ve had mine for less than a year and I am tired of replacing bands/having a device I can’t use while I wait for a replacement.

Very disappointed to see so many people had the same issue!

I didn't contact customer support about it as I thought maybe it happened because of the way I was wearing it. I have bought several bands for my Alta HR, and have had the same thing happen each and every time!

I don't want to purchase another band, and am afraid the other trackers will have the same issue (plus, they're more expensive). Planning to pursue other options.

Me too! The band separates from the tracker shortly after I put it on. Bought several bands, thinking it was my fault (till now, when I've seen so many others with the same issue).

Right now, the tracker is sitting on my dresser because I'm not buying another band! Don't want to buy a new tracker!

Check on Amazon. You can buy bands that fit for a lot less.

Well, after reading ALL the replies and just seeing more of the same, I realize there is no solution for this problem. I have the side of the band that keeps coming off taped with scotch tape but I don't think that's going to keep it attached. So sad to give up my Fitbit (rose-gold) but it looks like buying another band isn't the answer. So sorry, Fitbit. Nice knowing you. I don't think I'll be stupid enough to buy another tracker from this company. 😞

I bought a new band on Amazon for about $8.  Not only is it prettier then the original band that wouldn't stay on, but it's made of leather, not rubber, so it's more comfortable.  Don't know how long this solution will last - it's been about 4 months so far - but sure beats the frustration I was having previously.  Bottom line, Fitbit, fix this issue!
