Fitbit Alta HR said I had 6800 steps today. However, the tracking app on my phone showed I had done 9800 steps and I know I walked way more than 6800 steps. I believe this is the first time this has happened to me.

If you haven't done so, I would like to suggest that you perform a restart on your Fitbit tracker. For this, please follow the steps here: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

 

On a side note, please note that steps tracked by manually log activities aren't included to the total amount of steps recorded by your device. For more information about how Fitbit devices track your activity, please check: How do I track my activity with my Fitbit device?
