Alta HR display is blank

Hi,

 

This morning my screen has decided it doesn't want to display anything when I tap or swipe it. My battery is half charged and I have tried doing a reset of my tracker but to no avail.

I had a crack in my screen and Fitbit replaced it free of charge!

Yes same for me. I wonder if it is nit a defect of fabrication. So many of
us are complaining about it. What is the solution? Send the device to
Amazon or Fitbit? I bought it over a year ago!! Nobody has been able to
resolved this issue. Any suggestion?

Hiya,
I contacted Fitbit.com and messaged a guy on their forum. My Fitbit was
bought as a xmas present last year.
I am getting a replacement sent out but was offered a 50% off a selection
of fitbits. Hope this helps.

Neither my wife nor I have been able to 'synch' our Fitbits (Alta HRs) to the PC apps. My last successful synch was at 9:27PM on July 2, 2020. The apps indicate 'synching' or "locating tracker" but never change any of the indicators normally received from the Fitbit ... only the 'guesstimates' of the number of calories, etc.

 

Has Fitbit discontinued support for the Alta HR?

I ended up taking their offer on a discount of another fitbit product. I
read elsewhere they were discontinuing the Alta, but I dont know for
sure. I had owned my Alta for 3 years wearing daily, so totally out of
warranty.

Apparently MY problem is that Microsoft's recent update caused the loss of
access to the Fitbit app synching. Hated to do it, but applying another
update regained access for the Fitbit app.

How do you spell Microsoft? I spell it MONOPOLY.

My Alta hr just went blank. Last time it sync was maybe around 7 pm july 4,2020. My phone says refreshing then no device found. My Fitbit is more than 2 years old. I attached it to the charger again, it has display again for a while and the green lights underneath are always on.

I think it has to do with updates because there are too many posts with
people having same problem and I have no answer for you I’m sorry

The solution to my (similar) problem was to allow a Windows 10 update.
After the re-start, my Alta HR once again was able to synch with my PC app,
as well as the full dashboard reached via my browser (Firefox).
Unfortunately, Microsoft once again disregarded my personal settings for
folders, so there IS a downside to the update.

Frustrating isnt it? I went down this same path. Somewhere online Fitbit
gives you remedies to fix the problem. I ended up accepting their discount
and purchased a new one.

I am having this exact same issue.  I contacted customer support on 6/30 because I was having a problem with the silent alarm failing to work periodically (every thing else worked perfectly).  The customer service rep pointed out that he could see I had an update outstanding, so of course, I update my app and now the device just shows a blank screen and doesn’t work at all.  I feel like I’m being scammed because of course my Fitbit is outside warranty and conveniently they’ve given me 25% off to get a new device before rendering the one I have completely useless with their update or by customer service, who knows.  I can’t even get an Alta HR anymore.

I know, my Fitbit is out of warranty also. And now I think they don't have alta hr. I've got a few bracelets I bought for my alta HR and if I buy a different one, they'll go to waste.My fitbit registered some steps this morning but the screen is blank.Sent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE Device

I totally get your frustration.
In the end I took their 50% discount on a new fitbit.
They are not going to do much else at this point.

I think they delibertly make them quit working that many dont have blank
screens if so then they need to make them better... Mine works fine except
for the blank screen

Great tips! I didn’t even know there was a reset button until I read this thread. Haha

 

unfortunately, pressing the reset three times does not work. I have also tried holding the button for 15 seconds. Disconnecting. And reconnecting. Nothing seems to work. Screen is still black. Any tips? Or do we think it died?
