Alta HR flashes through the screens and does nothing else

I noticed my alta hr looked like the battery died, so I put it on the charger, after about an hour I noticed it still wasn’t working. I reset it and after messing with it for a few minutes it turned on, but it flashes through all the screens repeatedly and doesn’t actually seem to be recording any data. Any ideas? I refuse to buy another fitbit. They are expense and only good for a year or two.

I had to call Customer Support.  We spent 30 minutes troubleshooting both on the app and the device.   Mine was under warranty and they provided a replacement
