Alta HR heart rate information inaccurate

The heart rate monitor on my Alta HR generally seems pretty accurate as long as I keep my exercise moderate, but I’ve noticed that if I work above 165 bpm it automatically drops down to below 110 bpm.

 

I wear it nice and tight, and as I said it’s otherwise accurate, but I find this bug very annoying.  Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
