Alta HR isn't holding a charge

Hi Guys,
My Fitbit Alta HR turned itself off / had a low battery a couple of nights ago. There's nothing wrong with the battery, as it will regularly hold charge for a week. When I woke up, it was off, so I connected it to the charger. After a few hours I realized it wasn't charging, so reset it by pressing the cord button 3 times.

The device reset and fully charged. Here is the problem. The device will only stay on when connected to the charger. I've had no issues with the battery up until this point. When I disconnect the cable the device switches off, and I need to connect it back up, and reset it to power up. Display says the battery is full, however, any time I disconnect it, it turns off. Any ideas please?
Thanks!
