Alta HR not holding charge

Last night, I noticed that the green light on the bottom of my Fitbit was on and extremely bright. This morning, I woke up, and it was dead. I charged it all morning, and then took it off the charger. The full battery symbol appeared. I went on my way, and then in the middle of a run, I tapped it to check the time and nothing displayed. I got home and tried to sync, and nothing happened. I plugged it in and it was fully dead - the battery with the exclamation point appeared. As it charged, I noticed that it got extremely hot. When I take it off the charger, the battery drains immediately. I have tried restarting it multiple times by plugging it into my computer and pressing the button on the charger three times. When I do that, the Fitbit symbol appears and the version number appears, but nothing changes.
