Alta HR not properly charging

My fitbit is not holding any charge and when i put it to charge it gets very hot. Then there is sometines an ! When i attach it to the charger. Unit is just over a year old. Is it dead?

Hi, Thanks. I tried it. he fitbit logo comes up but it doesn't vibrate. After the Fitbit logo comes up only the Version number appears. That's it. No vibration.
