When first putting on my Fitbit in the morning, it reads that my heartrate is 165 and that I've already had 155 minutes of cardio? What do I do and how do I update soft/firmwear?

Hi, @kbfaville , while your Fitbit was not on your wrist overnight was it left near a source of vibration (such as a fan)? If so the vibrations could have been interpreted by your Fitbit as exercise.
You might also want to give your Fitbit a restart. Instructions here . A restart will not mean you lose data but can solve many issues and is always the first troubleshooting step.

Hi there, @kbfaville. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the inconvenience with your heart rate readings.
As @Julia_G has mentioned, note that if you remove your watch but it keeps moving, for example if you put it in a pocket, backpack, purse, or even on a nigh stand table, the Alta HR may display an erroneous heart rate reading due to the vibrations. Nevertheless, please follow her advice and give your Alta HR a restart.
However, I've seen you contacted our Support Team after posting here and they've already assisted you. If you still need help or have any questions/concerns regarding the outcome of your case, please feel free to contact our team back for further assistance.
Hope that helps.
