Alta HR shows high heart rate readings in the morning

When first putting on my Fitbit in the morning, it reads that my heartrate is 165 and that I've already had 155 minutes of cardio?  What do I do and how do I update soft/firmwear?

Hi, @kbfaville , while your Fitbit was not on your wrist overnight was it left near a source of vibration (such as a fan)?  If so the vibrations could have been interpreted by your Fitbit as exercise.

You might also want to give your Fitbit a restart.  Instructions here .  A restart will not mean you lose data but can solve many issues and is always the first troubleshooting step.

Hi there, @kbfaville. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the inconvenience with your heart rate readings.

As @Julia_G has mentioned, note that if you remove your watch but it keeps moving, for example if you put it in a pocket, backpack, purse, or even on a nigh stand table, the Alta HR may display an erroneous heart rate reading due to the vibrations. Nevertheless, please follow her advice and give your Alta HR a restart

However, I've seen you contacted our Support Team after posting here and they've already assisted you. If you still need help or have any questions/concerns regarding the outcome of your case, please feel free to contact our team back for further assistance.

Hope that helps.
