My phone suddenly won't pair my phone. In the last 4 days I tried everything the website suggested (unpair from phone and pair again, turn bluetooth off and on, restart phone, Uninstall and reinstall apps, try to pair using a laptop... etc etc). nothing works.
It will either not pair at all. Or it will pair but no data sync, or a few more steps shown after trying to sync a couple of time using all the steps mentioned above. This is very frustrating. What is going on? Fitbit stopped supporting this device?

Sounds like same problem a lot of other people are having, including me.
I have a Pixel 3, and my Alta HR stopped syncing reliably from Android 11 onward.
A new Inspire 2 works perfectly fine. A brand new Alta HR won't sync reliably, and won't even stay synced to get through firmware update.

Am having same issue. Last sync was Sept 21. I'm on a Pixel phone....maybe some update messed it up?

They've released 2 updates to the Fitbit app. Neither has fixed the sync issues.
Appears the Android 11 correlates with everyone having their problems.
For me: Android 11, Pixel 3, Alta HR.

I had a problem with my fitbit alta and pixel 3a.
I seriously considered buying a new Fitbit but then thought twice because why would a new one work if my old one doesn't.
Then I had an idea to order a dongle on Amazon. (I don't know where the original one is).
When the dongle arrived I connected it to my laptop, allowed the fitbit to do the firmware update on there and since then it has synced with my Google pixel 3a XL just perfect.
I am running Android 11 on my phone.

dongle is for bluetooth connection to PC. this allows you to connect to your Alta on a different platform than Android 11. from what I've seen in the forums, this appears to be the only way to successfully connect to your device after the Android 11 update that happened recently.

Both, it will connect the fit bit to the laptop but also update firmware on the fitbit.
I have not had any problems connecting my fitbit to my Google Pixel 3a XL running Android 11 since I updated the firmware.

Nope, doesn't work for me. My Alta HR didn't require a firmware update when paired to an iPad and would still fail to sync with a Pixel 3.
A brand new Alta HR did require a firmware update, performed through the iPad. Again, it would continue to have syncing issues with the Pixel 3, fail to receive notifications.

For me: Android 11, Pixel 3, Alta HR - Same issue. Got on with support and after they confirmed this information I was basically told.... too bad, here's 30% off to buy something else which is crap. I spent over $100 for something that didn't even last two years. I'm looking for other smartwatches/fitness tracking options.

Same for me, Alta HR, Google Pixel 2, recently upgraded to Android 11, that's when the syncing stopped. Last sync was Sept 27ish.
Tried resetting the Alta HR, reinstalled the Fitbit app. During pairing, the Alta shows the 4-digit code, but after that, it fails to pair. I've done it...two dozen times?

Alta HR and Pixel 4a (5g): I uninstalled the app on my phone. Installed the app on my Windows 10 laptop and logged in. No problem connecting with bluetooth to my laptop and was able to sync them. Put the "dongle" in the usb drive which I gather updated the software on my Alta HR. Reinstalled the app on my phone and made sure the location permission was turned on. With bluetooth turned on, synced the Alta HR which forced my phone to try to connect. Answered all the connection questions and it works fine now.
It would be nice if this website was more straight-forward about what needed to be done as well as some intervention/responses by Fitbit's support staff in this thread. I wouldn't have spent hours trying to figure out what needed to be done as well as looking at competitor's fitness trackers. Fitbit almost lost my business as I am looking at purchasing a current model that provide more features than the Alta HR I bought ages ago.

Thanks for response. I've done all that and was finally told by Fitbit that they weren't supporting the Alta anymore. For a while I wore it just as a watch and a step-counter -no syncing. Husband kept bugging me to get a new model. Finally at Christmas I told him ok.... pick out a simple, small one (hate those huge round things). I didn't even want to deal with it. He got a Charge 4. Almost double the size. It has a lot of features they want you to pay extra for (I'm guessing a monthly fee). No thanks. One of the features that is supposed to be free is O2 saturation which has apparently never worked on Android. This will be my last Fitbit....bad customer relations.
